Red Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum)

Reishi mushrooms are known more for medicinal uses than for culinary applications. The fruiting bodies produce waxy, reddish-brown fungi with a bitter flavor and woody texture. This makes reishi ideal for drying and making powders, teas, and tinctures. Reishi is also known as the “mushroom of immortality” in some cultures.
